Inspired by !!!error: Indecipherable SUB-paragraph formatting!!! , I decided to do a spreadsheet version with a version with inputs. Most of the stuff is the same, but I’ve changed a lot too. It’s probably rife with “error”. Error is quoted because the real question to ask is - is there a right answer?
Anyway, here is the link, hopefully, it works for you.
HA! Just kidding! Its going to Davesaddiction to meld it with his work, it will be back.
Download the spreadsheet to play with it, you wont be able to make changes from the link

I think you will have to download the spreadsheet to make it work. otherwise everyone would be editing the same sheet.
The Gx470 got 217/31%
The Land Cruiser got 265/38%
The Azera got a whopping 121/17%
Seems like its working okay

EDIT: disregard
Wait, how does this work? I can;t edit and I don’t see any entries. And a preemptive thank you.
By the way, PLEASE include winning or even participating in a manufacturer backed racing series in there as well as color because my Cruze got the lowest score I saw anywhere despite dominating the World Touring Car Championship for multiple years. It even has the same engine (albeit with like half the power).
I got a 26 on Dave’s count only by counting all the countries of origin. 15 if that is cheating.

You’ll have to download it and mess with it. Otherwise everyone would be changing it in real time.

Only thing so far is you have to make a copy of the file to edit it. Also so there aren’t a dozen people editing the same document.

Alright, so this is genius and I love the excel wizardry you used. Thank you so much for doing this.
I once again have taken an American built car designed in South Korea with a German engine and transmission to be all three countries of origin but if you don’t like that deduct 25 points.
And my interior is a rather fetching two tone black and tan, not black/beige/gray/tan, so I’ve counted it. -10 points if not applicable.
I’ve not counted the four useless door pockets in my cupholder count and that’s fair if no one else does. If one friend is right, then opening my center console makes a 5th cupholder but I beg to differ.
Seems a little high for a very slow automatic commuter sedan but it would be higher if we included model race history. Fun!
Also, with 23 horses per pound I came reasonably close to the ultra low horsepower number for a modern car. I defy anyone else to come closer with a car made after 2010!

03 wrx wagon with some minor mods. I need to go back through and double check since I did this while leaving work and probably rushed it. The power modifier or whatever it was being under 15% probably helped too

Wait, no way is the power to weight ratio below 16%. I have 136 hp in a heavy modern car and it was like 23%.

Dude... I’ve been making changes all day long...
Can you take this down and wait til it’s final sometime next week (and make it match)?
Suggest changes to mine if you’d like.

Google says you have 227 so yeah naw dawg. If that qualifies for the ultra low hp bonus and leaves me high and dry trying to merge on the interstate with 136 then forget it.

I have 250hp to the wheels.
But even 227 would be 13.9 unless I’m reading this wrong
“ Absurbly low bonus (add 30 here if lbs/hp < 15)“
3165 curb weight/227=13.9
316 5/250 (wheel HP)=12.66
3165/270 (random crank HP guess)= 11.7
All of those are less than 15

If I did it right, the fintail is 52.79 % oppo, mainly due to age, colors, I6, RWD, from a country that no longer exists (“West” Germany). Maybe worthy of bonus points for MFI, swing axle, fluid coupling transmission, vertical speedometer, column shift with buckets, etc.
Wagon is 41.2 %.

I guess it’s referencing the score above tha t not an actual pounds divided by hp?

Okay, once I’ve got it final I’ll try to edit it to make it all match. I’d just rather everyone work together and we have some kind of “agreed upon” formula instead of competing scoring systems.
Thanks for taking the time to build this!

I am an idiot. GREATER than 15 pounds per horse is worse and I pass with flying colors. Personally I think that should probably be somewhere around 25 as my car is slow but not S L O W . It’s just about the perfect compromise of slow car fast and usable speed. Dang, I got better than I though.

I did it wrong and I exceed the greater than 15 pounds per horse by 7 WHOLE POUNDS PER HORSE YIPEEE! So my final score is 221, so officially into the 200s with a regular old boring automatic sedan.

The TSX isn’t exactly the highest ranking Oppo car.
My saving grace truly was the wagon body though. If I were driving around in your typical TSX I would’ve been only 20% Oppo. Three cheers for station wagons! This was fun, thanks for doing putting it together !

N ot bad, but thought it’d be little higher because it’s the answer. I think the NA 4 cylinder let it dow n. Engine score was low.
On body, is an extended cab truck really equal to an actual coupe? I get the regular cab being higher, but extended cab trucks are pretty much 4 door sedans these days.
Chassis scoring seemed about right.

Wow the slowness points really helped me despite my car being probably less Oppo realistically. Well, it really was the equal parts German (engine), American manufacture and badge and South Korean design where I couldn’t really decide a country of origin so I did all three.

I gained 30 points from this conversation. Now at a whopping 221 points for a slow automatic sedan, mostly because it has a German engine, was designed in South Korea, built in Ohio, and sold as a Chevy (Cruze, 2012, 1.8 LS). Definitely needed more points for hubcaps and being a successful race car.

It says “Make” for country, so I think it’s only the brand that matters. So even though my car wa s built in Belgium, I scored it as Swedish, since I think you have to consider Volvo a Swedish make (even though it’s owned by the Chinese, and was owned by Ford when my car was built).

Yeah but I am cheating just a bit. The car may be built in the US by an an American brand but there’s nothing about the design that’s American, unless you forget where Daewoo or Opel is located. I’ll call it a cheeky sneak rather than dishonesty as it is really tough to say the car is “American” in any sense of the word.

Ah, okay - hmm... Does making it “read-only” give the person that open it an opportunity to make a copy so they can edit?
Can you give me the link here? I think it’s pretty close to “final” now.
